The Role:

Within the Hampshire Equipment Services Team, we are committed to supporting children with complex health needs to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within their homes, schools, and communities. Join our supportive and dedicated team as an Equipment Advisor, where your work will help ensure, children receive the specialist equipment they need to reach their full potential. 

What you’ll do:

• Process equipment requests: Review and screen equipment requests from health and social care professionals, ensuring they are appropriately justified and supported by the required documentation.
• Provide advice and support: Offer guidance to prescribers and healthcare professionals on equipment provision, policies, procedures, and available solutions.
• Coordinate equipment orders: Check stock availability, authorise orders through the ProCloud system, liaise with technicians, and support the efficient provision of equipment.
• Work collaboratively: Build positive working relationships with therapists, specialist teachers, educational settings, healthcare professionals, technicians, and internal colleagues to deliver high-quality services.
• Manage information and budgets: Maintain accurate records, update spreadsheets, support budget monitoring, and help identify cost-effective solutions, including the use of recycled equipment where appropriate.

What we’re looking for:

Experience within equipment services is not essential as full training will be provided, including training on our specialist ProCloud system. What is most important is that you have the right skills, values, and motivation to support professionals delivering services to children and families.

• IT skills: A good understanding of IT systems and experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Communication skills: The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of professionals and respond effectively to queries.
• Attention to detail: Confidence in reviewing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and processing requests accurately.
• Team player: Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a supportive team environment.
• Customer focus: A commitment to delivering a high-quality service while managing expectations and handling sensitive situations professionally.
• Problem-solving skills: The ability to assess requests, identify appropriate solutions, and work through complex situations.
• Resilience and adaptability: Able to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and respond positively to changing demands.
• Willingness to learn: An interest in developing knowledge of specialist equipment, disabilities, and complex health needs.
