Salary: Scale 5, £30,333 - £32,613 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the role
Support the Digital Forensics Group by maintaining flow of exhibits through the unit and completing early analysis of exhibits to determine the best course of action by using comprehensive triage processes. Reporting the results internally and externally.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to;
- To ensure that exhibits are acquired and processed to preserve evidential data in a timely manner ready for onward examination by Examiners.
- To carry out unlocking of mobile devices and produce detailed reports and evidence.
- Advise OIC of technical capability to assist lines of enquiry.
- Diagnose faults and conduct minor repairs of devices.
- Carry out digital media wiping processes
- To conduct quality check/peer reviews as part of the rolling schedule.
- To schedule work in an effective manner and communicate results clearly

Additional Requirements
The applicant should be aware that a large proportion of the enquiries received at this unit will mean that they will handle disturbing material which can include pornography of all types and indecent / abusive images of children. As a result, this role has been identified as requiring mandatory Psychological Screening, please refer to the Psychological screening Support for staff working in high risk roles
The role holder may be required to visit other locations within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and therefore needs to have the ability to travel as necessary.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 3 in an IT subject OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
This role equates to the role of Junior Digital Examiner used in industry;
IT literacy (entailing experience of the mechanics of software and hardware) with previous experience in an IT or related environment or academic achievements related to role is required.
