Salary: Scale 5, £29,109 - £31,296 per annum
Contract : Temporary for 12 months
Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Purpose
Critical in helping Hampshire Constabulary with their purpose of making
‘You, Your Family, and Our Communities Safer’. To identify, gather,
evaluate and disseminate information to support problem solving on some
of the challenges the Force faces.
This role is available due to an increase in referrals into the Internet Child Abuse Team. We require an additional Intelligence Researcher to develop intelligence to identify adult suspects or child subjects involved in on-line child abuse. This is a crucial stage of our work-flow to inform our investigation team. The successful candidate will be dealing with information pertaining to online abuse of children and play a vital role within our inclusive team in targeting online offenders and safeguarding children.
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to :
1. Collaborate with customers to identify and assist problem solving,
identify appropriate and relevant data sources for the task at hand.
2. Research, collate, evaluate and disseminate information from a wide
range of open and closed information sources in relation to problems,
patterns, trends and series to support analysis.
3. Produce, evaluate and take responsibility for creating accurate, high
quality and easy to use reports and contribute to products produced by
analysts.
4. Liaise with and work in partnership with other organisations, to gather
and research information
5. Maintain knowledge of the current products and Force priorities
6. Prepare data, charts, maps etc. to support investigations and
operations (for example, major Force events) as required.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes to
include English language and Maths) OR work experience
deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
Experience of researching and collating data
Good verbal and written communication skills with the
ability to produce accurate and timely reports
Demonstrate a basic understanding of research
processes and techniques
Ability to use own initiative and possessing good time
management skills
Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Good literacy and numeracy skills
