Salary: SO1, £37,020 - £39,276 per annum

About The Role
You will take responsibility for the research, development and implementation of intelligence products on behalf of SIOs, managing critical investigations and to support the implementation of Digital Media Strategies and Covert Policing Strategies.
You will be a subject matter expert in regards to open source research. As an NPCC level 3 operative, provide advice in relation to open source intelligence tactics for critical incidents aswell as to provide tactical advice in regards to the use of overt and covert open source tools.
Your support the implementation of sensitive covert tactics by preparing applications under RIPA 2000 and associated risk assessments. This includes being part of a Covert Monitoring Post and understanding the
associated risks when utilising the tactic and also support the SIO’s overarching objectives by researching, developing and implementing intelligence products and to propose recommendations which are proportionate and appropriate. This includes writing reports and subject profiles which assess the threat, risk and harm.
You're also carry out the delivery of Digital Media Strategies which includes obtaining, researching and analysing data from a range of intelligence and digital sources. This is on a case by case basis and the role holder is
expected to have the confidence to understand the relevancy of the information in line with the SIO’s operational objectives. To propose recommendations which are proportionate and appropriate to assist the SIO.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have
brought the postholder to a comparable level
Essential Experience
Considerable experience working in a law enforcement
Intelligence or Investigations Team, including some with a
data and technology focus.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with proven
experience of forming and maintain internal and external
relationships.
Ability to use own initiative and possess good time
management skills.
Experience in innovative and creative approaches to
problem solving.
Experience of gathering and using information from a range
of sources to deliver a task.
Experience in communicating complex information to
others, both in writing and verbally.
Practical experience of working on a broad range of
intelligence and investigations operations, including some
with a data and technology focus.
Effective report writing and presentation skills, with
experience in delivering to all levels of an organisation.
Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
