This department is responsible for housing, communities and improving the lives of local residents.  This includes landlord services and estate management, planning, refurbishment, and advice and support to help maintain healthy and safe homes.

A significant part of our work is focused on creating stronger communities, by working together with local residents on recovery following the Grenfell tragedy.

The Role:

Are you an inspirational housing professional with an impressive track record of delivering excellent leasehold services? Delivering responsive, high quality and value for money services to our residents is key to our success. We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to provide inspiring and energetic leadership to the Home Ownership Team. Leading a team of 11, you’ll ensure effective resident engagement, collaboration and contribute to the successful delivery of the capital works programme. You’ll work closely with other Council departments and key stakeholders to achieve excellent performance and high-quality outcomes for residents.

About You:

 You’ll have specialist knowledge of leasehold management, legislative and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a broad range of skills and expertise in service charge billing through to collection. You will drive service improvements, working closely with residents across our 2000 leasehold homes.  You’ll also play a key role in the delivery of our £300m capital works program, ensuring that leaseholders are fully engaged and involved.

You’ll be customer focused, financially astute, have great attention to detail and able to work collaboratively, across teams and departments. You’re able to understand and interpret complex information and present it to a variety of audiences. 

Role Requirements:

You will be educated to degree or equivalent standard. A project management and or relevant community work qualification would be desirable.



We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs. Your recruitment information will advise if your remit extends beyond RBKC.
