Salary range: £24,702 - £26,873 pro-rata, per annum (actual salary £12,351 - £13,436.50 per annum) 

Work location: The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock 

Hours per week: 18.5 - we are open to discussions about flexible working  

Contract type: Permanent 

Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check.

About us

 

Oxfordshire County Council are seeking to appoint a Site Supervisor for the Oxfordshire Museum on a permanent basis.  This is an exciting time to join the Oxfordshire Museum Service as we develop our operationally focused team and enhance access for all to our range of services.

 

The Oxfordshire Museum is our flag ship site and attracts over 100,000 visitors every year. The site includes an accessible green space, permanent and temporary galleries, learning space, café, shop and library. You will play an important role in ensuring the site is safe and welcoming to our range of users.

 

 

About the role

 

Once fully recruited, this role will work within the Operations team who collectively care for our four sites and support colleagues in our management of our collections and access to them. This post will work with a range of colleagues, volunteers and the public. No two days are the same at the museum!

 

The team reports to the Museum Service Manager who has overall responsibility for the Oxfordshire Museum Service.  This role is integral to the development and management of our site and operations.

 

 

About you

 

The successful applicant will be practical and enjoy undertaking a range of diverse tasks. They will take responsibility and have a flexible and positive approach to site related matters. Ideally the post holder will have previous experience of heritage / museum sites or public attractions, or an interest in learning about them in a supported way. 

 

They will be happy to work independently and as part of the operations team and wider museum family.
