Salary range: £46,845 - £49,860 per annum

Work location: Initially remotely due to COVID19, with possible future travel to various locations around the county

Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

Contract type: Permanent

This role sits within the Growth and Economy directorate and supports the delivery of a half a billion-pound plus capital infrastructure programme over the coming years.

About the role


With a capital budget of around £40m, over five years, you'll be professional lead for in-project programme and budget management, the commissioning of management of design consultants, design approvals, procurement and stakeholder communication.


Reporting to the Programme Lead, you'll oversee the delivery of the major transport projects through design and construction - ensuring challenging targets are met and value-for-money is achieved at all times.


You'll be the visible expert in your field - leading, coaching, supporting, motivating and monitoring colleagues to improve performance and ensuring sound project management techniques and disciplines are embedded in the team. Managing multiple schemes and projects, you will build and maintain relationships with key strategic partners, senior council directors, politicians and operational teams.



About you


We're looking for significant, senior-level experience developing and implementing high profile transport and highway infrastructure programmes. A respected management qualification or management experience is essential. If you're a member of a professional body, even better.


In addition, you'll need a solid track record or stakeholder management and communication, as well as in-depth understanding of legal standards and rules in this sector.
