Disabled Children's Social Worker (Looked After and Leaving Care) OCC17361

Salary range: £30,507 - £36,876 per annum

Work location: Knight's Court, Oxford

Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

Contract type: Permanent

The Children's Disability Team, based in Oxford, is looking for a qualified and, preferably, experienced social worker.

 

About Us:

 

The Children's Disability Team, based in Oxford, works closely with colleagues in the Local Authority and other agencies, including the voluntary sector.

 

The work is interesting, varied, challenging and offers experience in every kind of Social Work. 

 

About the Role:


You will be supporting disabled children (aged over 14 years) who are looked after and care leavers (up to the age of 25 years), helping them to achieve positive outcomes and transition successfully into adulthood. Your role will also involve broader social work with disabled children, including safeguarding and supporting children on Child in Need plans.

 

About You:

 

You will be enthusiastic and an effective communicator, who is committed to promoting equal opportunities for disabled children and able to work as part of a team.

 

You must be able to produce various written documents, follow departmental procedures and work in a busy, sometimes stressful environment.

 

If you are a newly qualified Social Worker, you will undertake Oxfordshire County Council's Assessed Supported Year in Employment.
