About us

 

TVERC collects, analyses and shares geodiversity and biodiversity information in Berkshire and Oxfordshire in order to help people make sound decisions about how to develop and manage land sustainably, where to direct wildlife conservation work and for scientific education and research.

About the role

 

We need an enthusiastic person to support the volunteer recording network to increase the quality and quantity of ecological and environmental data recording in Oxfordshire and Berkshire and to facilitate data-sharing with TVERC by liaising with existing volunteer recorders and volunteer recording groups.

 

Your main tasks will be to coordinate data agreements and exchanges with voluntary recording groups, recruit, train and support volunteers to undertake data management (using Excel and GIS), organise and attend relevant events to promote data-sharing and volunteering with TVERC, and provide practical and project-specific advice to external organisations on data collection, collation and management.

About you

 

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with a wide range of both volunteer and professional recorders and stakeholders.  You will be well organised and flexible in your work, as well as being independent.  Good IT skills are required and knowledge and experience of GIS is desirable.  The ability to communicate effectively within the team and to deliver an excellent service to our customers is essential.
