We have an exciting opportunity for two Administrative Officers to join Oxfordshire County Council's Children's Services department.

 

About the Roles:

 

Administrative Officer (Support) - Salary range: £19,945 - £22,021 per annum

In the Support role you will be supporting Social Workers who work with families and young people within our community. 

To be successful in this role, you will be someone with excellent communication skills, who thrives on working in a team environment. Whilst prior experience of working in a Social Care environment is not essential, you should be able to demonstrate experience of providing administrative support in a busy, customer-focused team.  Good ICT skills are essential and you must be comfortable with using Microsoft Office applications. Experience in using database systems would also be highly valued.

We have a dedicated training and induction plan where we will develop your knowledge, skills and expertise in all administrative areas. 

 

Administrative Officer (Specialist) - Salary range: £22,021 - £23,836 per annum

In the Specialist role, you will become part of a highly skilled and experienced administrative team, providing direct support to the Operational Team working in Cowley, Oxford. 

To be successful in this role, you must be experienced in working in an administrative environment and have excellent organisational skills. You will take on significant responsibility and you will be able to work both independently and as part of a large team. Excellent organisational skills are a must. Being able to establish good working relationships and have an excellent manner when dealing with customers and other members of the public, is essential.  You will be familiar with Microsoft Office and have fast, accurate word processing skills, spreadsheets and ability to manage databases.

We will develop your knowledge, skills and expertise in a number of ways, which will become the main focus of your role.

Our Children Services Administration Officer Roles are based in a number of small, supportive teams. These fast paced jobs are crucial to enable the Children's Social Care teams working effectively and delivering outstanding services to our customers. Our teams work co-operatively to provide efficient and effective secretarial and administrative support to staff based in Specialist Directorate Teams. We proactively liaise with colleagues to provide constant and consistent services, streamline practices, provide cross-service cover and help prevent excessive workload peaks. Both roles will therefore suit someone able to work at a fast pace, often to tight deadlines, whist staying calm and efficient under pressure.
