Our new approach


Family Solutions Plus will be comprised of locality-based, multi-disciplinary teams of professionals including specialist adult practitioners, working together to support children and their families. Our new teams bring together Social Workers, Children’s Practitioners, and adult mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse workers to work collaboratively to achieve best outcomes for children and families.


Motivational interviewing is at the heart of our new model; we are committed to engaging families using a strength-based, solution-focused approach. Our practice model will use a single structured ‘workbook’ approach to assess parents’ capacity for change, reducing the volume of recording for social workers.


All practitioners will participate in regular group supervision led by managers, so that risk is assessed, tackled and owned collectively.


The development of our new FSP teams has created a number of vacancies. We are looking for Social Workers, Team Managers and Assistant Team Managers to join us and help shape and deliver our teams - it’s a really exciting time to join us!



About the role


During this exciting time of change in our service, we’re looking for Team Managers who will support and develop our teams. Our managers are key in ensuring the success of our teams and good outcomes for the children and families we support.


As someone with strong communication skills, you’ll build successful working relationships with both your own team and across the service, as well as with other professionals to shape, develop and deliver services effectively. You’ll work with the Service Manager in the development, delivery and review of services. With extensive experience and skills in partnership working across Children’s Services, you’ll support your team by advising and make decisions on complex families when required, whilst protecting the time and space needed to support reflective practice.


Our Team Managers are people who excel at nurturing and developing every individual in their teams, empowering them to realise their fullest potential. They bring everyone together to enable us to achieve the best outcomes possible for the children and families we support, who are at the heart of everything we do.
