Our Youth Justice & Exploitation Service (YJES) are developing a ground-breaking, specialist, multi-agency service built on existing expertise and developing new ways of working. It enables an extension of services for those who are sexually exploited, to children and young people at risk of, or subject to, any form of exploitation. It will also allow us to continue to focus on children subject to Youth Justice statutory orders and to support to children who are victims of crime and extension of work to children at risk of offending.

 

Our restructured service will be co-located with partners across health, police, probation, city and district councils, education and the third sector in two teams based in north, south and central offices.

 

The development of our new YJES teams has created a number of vacancies; we are looking for 2 Social Workers, an Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Participation Officer and a Family Practitioner  to join us and help shape and deliver our teams; it’s a really exciting time to join us!

 

 

About the role – Social Worker (Exploitation)

 

We’re looking for passionate and motivated Social Workers who have experience in, or an interest and understanding of exploitation and young people.

 

You’ll be working as part of a specialist, multi-agency team to tackle exploitation faced by children up to the age of 18 in Oxfordshire. The exploitation could include children who are being exploited and/or offending and/or at risk of offending and/or who are victims of crime. The focus of this role is the transformation of social work practice and supporting the implementation of risk and safety planning. All roles are to support and develop practitioners to deliver sound, systemic practice which achieves positive well-being and safety outcomes for adolescents, including those in need of protection, at risk of/subject to significant harm, reducing offending and re-offending, and reducing risks to the public.

 

Our Social Workers will work flexibly, according to the needs of the young person and service, this may include working anywhere in Oxfordshire on a temporary or permanent basis and participate in a number of duty rotas, including daytime, late night duty and weekend and bank holidays.

A Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England is essential for this role.

 

The nature of this post will require flexibility to meet urgent work needs, as they arise. This may entail some work outside normal office hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
