Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias OCC18698

Job Details:

Salary range: £33,799 - £36,876 per annum 
Work location: Speedwell House, Oxford
Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working
Contract type: Permanent
Closing date: Wednesday 11th March 2020

Oxfordshire County Council are currently looking for an Electrician with Air-conditioning qualification (preferred but not essential) to join our thriving engineering maintenance team. 

About us:

You will be working within the planned maintenance division.  You'll carry out routine maintenance, repair and installation of electrical and aircondition service equipment throughout our estate portfolio within the corporate sector, in accordance with work schedules, Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE) wiring regulations and to established standard procedures.

To provide routine maintenance, repair and installation of electrical and air-caondition services throughout our portfolio within the corporate sector

About you:

Experience within a similar role, is ideal and should be qualified to a minimum of:

Electrical:
•    NVQ level 3 (or equivalent), 17th Edition (BS7671) and City & Guild 2391 Electrical Test/Inspect would be advantageous however training maybe available
•    Strong understanding and awareness of health and safety

Air Conditioning:
•    City & Guilds 2079 F Gas, Cat 1 – 4 is desirable but not essential.
•    Capability of working to and understanding drawings i.e. Installation, circuit diagrams and line schematics

Experience working with:
-    F-gas
-    Fans/Motors
-    VRF/VRV
-    Splits
-    AHU's
-    Dehumidifiers, Chillers, Ventilation Hygiene beneficial but not essential

  • Other qualifications such as Confined Space, IPAF and PASMA is desired but not essential as training can be given.
  • You will need to be able to work alone and as part of a team. You will also need to be confident in using IT technology such as iPads and mobile phones. Training will be provided to the successful candidate if required.
  • A full driving Licence is essential.

With an addition to your salary, call out allowance and overtime are available (when required). A van, tablet device, mobile phone, uniform and PPE will also be provided along with great benefits including 25 days paid holiday. You are required to have your own hand tools but power tools and access equipment will be provided.
