Salary range: £24,982 - £27,741 per annum

Work location: Oxford, Abingdon or Banbury

Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

Contract type:Permanent

Oxfordshire County Council have created several new posts as part of a restructure of Direct Payment Services in Oxfordshire supporting Adults and Children’s Social Care and Health Direct Payment recipients. This is a really exciting opportunity for the right people to make an impact for our residents.

About the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for four new Direct Payment Advisors to join us in our new Direct Payment Advice team. You’ll be that person who is passionate about Direct Payments and always on the lookout for ways to do things better; more creatively, maximising on opportunities for choice, control and flexibility empowering others to build on their strengths and fulfil their potential. 

 

 

About you

 

You’ll need to be proactive and organised, be able to keep multiple plates spinning, and take a proactive role in your team to achieve key objectives. You will need to be adaptable, flexible and able to maintain personal resilience in response to competing priorities. You’ll be liaising with members of the public, partners and colleagues across Oxfordshire from different organisations. It is key that you can provide great customer service and have an aptitude for working collaboratively with colleagues and partners in problem solving and making informed and insightful decisions.

 

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Relevant experience in Direct Payments Advice
  • Knowledge and understanding of the range of Direct Payment regulations and guidance across Adults & Childrens’ Social Care and Health.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation, health and social care statutory guidance for Direct payments, health and safety in the workplace

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Providing advice and guidance to members of the public and colleagues for the purposes of having a direct payment.
  • Ensuring the all Direct Payments are set up in line with relevant legislation and local policy
  • Being proactive in identifying and escalating fraud

 

Professional Qualifications:

  • GCSE level English & Maths A-C, or equivalent.
