Work Location: Countywide

Hours per week: 2 posts currently available for a total of 1.5 FTE (1 FTE is 37 hrs per week)

Contract type: Permanent

Our Youth Justice & Exploitation Service (YJES) are developing a ground-breaking, specialist, multi-agency service built on existing expertise and developing new ways of working. It enables an extension of services for those who are sexually exploited, to children and young people at risk of, or subject to, any form of exploitation. It will also allow us to continue to focus on children subject to Youth Justice statutory orders and to support to children who are victims of crime and extension of work to children at risk of offending.

Our restructured service will be co-located with partners across health, police, probation, city and district councils, education and the third sector in two teams based in north, south and central offices.

 

The development of our new YJES teams has created a number of vacancies; we are currently looking for Assistant Team Managers and a Senior Practitioner to join us and help shape and deliver our teams; it’s a really exciting time to join us!

 

 

About the role – Assistant Team Manager (Exploitation)

 

We’re looking for two passionate and motivated Assistant Team Managers who have experience in, or an interest and understanding of exploitation and young people.

 

You’ll be working as part of a specialist, multi-agency team to tackle exploitation faced by children up to the age of 18 in Oxfordshire. The exploitation could include children who are being exploited and/or offending and/or at risk of offending and/or who are victims of crime. You will assist the Team Manager in the operational management of the Exploitation Team, ensuring the highest standards of service are provided. You’ll support a team of Senior Practitioners, Exploitation Workers and some matrix supervision of Youth Justice and Exploitation workers and be responsible for prioritisation of team allocated work held in the Duty system under the direction of a Team Manager. You’ll ensure that services are planned and delivered in a way that maximises participation and reflects Children’s Rights in relation to services being provided and, in the way, that children, young people and families are worked with. The nature of this post will require flexibility to meet urgent work needs, as they arise. This may entail some work outside normal office hours, including weekends and bank holidays.



A Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England, with relevant post-qualifying experience are essential for this role.
