This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of the Special Educational Needs Support Services (SENSS).
We are looking for an outstanding manager with proven skills leading a specialist team/s supporting children with low incidence SEND.
You will be leading and managing a number of well-established but forward-looking low incidence teaching and advisory SEND teams (HI, VI, MSI, Post-16 SI, PD, Down & Complex Needs, SEN ICT AAC) that are highly regarded by educational settings and other services/organisations in Oxfordshire. 
The Sensory, Physical and Complex Needs teams support children and young people, 0-25 years, attending early years, school and college settings across the county as well as working with the families of pre-school children in Early Years groups and in the home. The HI and PD teams offer Resource Base provision in partnership with host schools (primary and secondary HI bases in Oxford City and a central countywide PD base in Woodstock. The teams lead on in-service training for the Local Authority for the specialist areas of low incidence need described above.
You will be an outstanding communicator with the ability to set out a clear vision for your team and to lead, inspire and unify them in delivering high quality services within the framework of the Code of Practice and the SENSS Service Improvement Plan.
You will have a solid understanding of management processes, acquired in a Local Authority or school context, that will underpin your confidence as well as excellent decision-making skills.
You will also have a firm grasp of the current SEN context including legal frameworks and best practice guidance. You will be committed to working in partnership with schools and other agencies, through a collaborative, family centred and multidisciplinary approach to meet the needs of children with SEND.
A sound understanding of best management practice and an ability to effectively lead and motivate a team, with a clear commitment to inclusive education is essential. 
The ability to travel is essential and a mileage allowance is paid.
