Job Details:

Salary Range: £47,150 - £65,465 per annum (inclusive of a market supplement of up to £12,400)

Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester

Hours per week: 37 

Contract type: Permanent

The Role:

Hampshire County Council has a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly driven SAP Development Lead to manage our ABAP and Fiori/UI5 development team. 


You will lead a team of SAP Software Developers responsible for working on vital projects and large programmes of work, as well as supporting and maintaining the SAP systems and applications.


The team is currently working on a major business improvement programme as part of Hampshire County Councils digital strategy, so this is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and working with the latest SAP technologies. will also play a key role in transforming the team structure as we seek to expand and diversify our existing talent.   


You will be resourceful and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with business and technical audiences. A team player, you will effectively influence and engage IT and non-IT colleagues openly and effectively.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage ABAP and Fiori/UI5 resources.
  • Ensure resource estimates are accurate.
  • Maintain resource plans for agreed projects.
  • Manage delivery of project build phase to agreed timelines.
  • Manage BAU activity.
  • Ensure completion of technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process rationalization/improvement.
  • Input into corporate standards.
  • Ensure corporate standards are adhered to.
  • Act as an escalation point for the development team.
What we are looking for:

Essential

  • Good understanding of the following SAP technologies: - ABAP, Fiori/UI5 (desirable)
  • Worked in a lead role previously.
  • Significant SAP development experience.
  • Proven record in designing and delivering solutions.
  • Experience of working within a controlled project environment. 
  • Experience managing build on SAP projects.
  • Good understanding of SAP change and transport management processes.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • A team player, able to work effectively, openly and supportively with a range of IT and non-IT colleagues.

 

Desirable

  • SAP related training courses
  • A degree and/or formal industry recognised qualifications or relevant experience
