Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester (Hybrid Working)

Contract Type: Permanent

Closing Date: 10 July 2022

The Role:

Kickstart your career in recruitment by working directly with roles that impact the areas in which you live!

At Hampshire County Council, we’ve set ourselves apart from other organisations by creating a leading Public Sector Shared Services Partnership, offering Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT and Audit Services, using industry best practice and cutting-edge digital technology.

Our Shared Services Centre delivers to over 100,000 customers across Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Oxfordshire County Council, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council.

Our Recruitment Team is a significant operation with a workforce of approximately 100 people providing a transactional, self service delivery model to our Partners. Our in-house Recruitment service aims to supply evidence-based, creative recruitment solutions as we transition towards a more specialist service.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop as a seasoned Recruiter, supporting projects and creating a wide variety of recruitment campaigns, helping our customers with best practice recruitment solutions.

The diversity of this role and its customer group will present a really rewarding opportunity to recruit for a huge variety of roles which directly impact the residents of Hampshire.

Supporting our Advisers and customers with the management, design, and coordination of targeted recruitment campaigns, you’ll offer creative input into adverts and optimise the use of advertising media approaches where needed.

By delivering excellent customer service, you’ll take ownership of customer queries and have the ability to mentor and support other team members, role modelling best practice behaviours. Above all, you’ll share and promote our service values.

In return, we’ll equip you with the knowledge and confidence to enable you to challenge ineffective practices whilst engaging and advising recruiting managers, so you must possess the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across your specialist service areas.

Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a fast-paced transactional environment, but this isn't essential as we’ll provide the training and support that you’ll need to succeed!

What can we offer you?

As a forward-looking local authority, we offer a modern, supportive, and collaborative working environment, an excellent work/life balance, a strong emphasis on training and development, professional challenge and variety, a central and well-connected Head Office location in the heart of the city of Winchester and a competitive salary and benefits package

Additionally, we’re committed to your success and offer ongoing 1:1 support and continuous development opportunities including apprenticeships and accredited qualifications with the Institute of Customer Services.

We have invested heavily in technologies to support ongoing remote working options. This 37 hour role can be carried out remotely but with some office-based working required to support business needs. The team are currently working 1 day per week in the office, although this may change subject to business requirements.
