Hampshire is a great place to live and work!

As a result, it is no surprise that there is significant demand to bring forward a wide range of development in Hampshire, delivering houses and jobs whilst also facilitating the lives of existing and new communities.

The Highway Development Planning and Highways Development Client teams have an important role to play in enabling development to come forward whilst providing the necessary transport and highway infrastructure that will keep Hampshire moving. You will gain exposure to a huge variety of planning projects, from a handful of dwellings to new communities of several thousand homes. You can expect to play a central role from reviewing planning applications to client managing and assisting with the delivery of developer led highway improvements. You will help bring together the skills and expertise of a range of stakeholders, and be actively engaged in the decision making process. The team also manages and monitors residential and work-based travel plans.

Working within a busy team, you will contribute to providing the highway authority response to planning applications. Responsible for managing your own workload, you will be directly involved in setting out the highway response to planning authorities, as well as negotiating and securing significant developer funded transport packages. This represents an excellent opportunity if you are looking to enhance your experience in transport and development.

What can we offer you?

Hampshire County Council is a flexible employer interested in making the most of your skills and offers a great work life balance.

The team has a strong track record of staff development and training opportunities will be available. You will gain significant experience and exposure within the transport planning industry, all within a supportive and flexible environment.
