Job Details:

Salary Range: £32,752- £36,862 per annum
Work location: The Castle, Winchester
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Temporary for 18 months

The Role:

Joining the Application Support Team, you’ll be helping to deliver a challenging programme of enhancements to social care IT systems used by staff working in both Adults Health and Care and Children’s Services Departments.  The team works on analysis, configuration and testing of changes alongside the business as usual support of these critical systems. 

 

About You
The successful candidate will have a background of working in IT, supporting and configuring business applications, alongside excellent analytical, problem solving skills to manage and resolve complex support incidents.

Knowledge of social care business processes and social care systems is an advantage but more importantly you will be willing to take the initiative as well as responsibility for leading work streams, with good communication skills and a strong customer focus. 

Experience of system and acceptance testing, managing and planning workloads and working with users to develop and understand business requirements is required.  You will be able to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders, demonstrating a flexible attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Role Responsibilities:

•    Support, configuration and systems administration of Hampshire County Council’s Education application Capita One and Social Care applications, Swift, ICS and AIS
•    Participate in projects to ensure delivery of agreed business requirements
•    IT testing, to include; test script production, unit and system testing and co-ordination of customer acceptance testing 
•    Work with external suppliers 
•    Build and maintain relationships with key business leads
•    Assist with business analysis, requirements gathering, consultancy and design of system developments
•    Write and update procedures, project and technical documentation 

Role Requirements:

Essential Skills 
•    Experience of providing 2nd and/or 3rd level user application support. 
•    Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills. 
•    Experience of delivering and co-ordinating IT solutions, understanding of business analysis and requirements gathering 
•    Strong focus on providing and improving customer satisfaction. 
•    Ability to work effectively with external suppliers. 
•    Experience of writing and following test scripts, covering; unit, functional, systems, end-to-end, integration and regression testing. 
•    Effective communication skills at all levels, including oral, written, presentation and briefing others 
•    Flexibility to work effectively across different areas of IT, including; user support, IT administration, analysis, design, development and testing. 
•    Experience of promoting data accuracy and IT security. 

 

Desirable skills 
•    Good knowledge of social care and/or education, IT systems used by both Adults Health and Care and Children’s Services; Swift, AIS, ICS and Capita One
•    Basic SQL skills 
•    An awareness of Project Management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2/AGILE) and experience working with these in a project environment. 
•    Knowledge or experience of the Ebase development application. 
•    Experience of configuring and administrating multi-user database applications.
