We are seeking an Azure Analytics Platform specialist, with hands-on experience of the Azure analytics environment and an in-depth knowledge of its implementation. 

This is a unique opportunity to help develop and guide the Council’s expanding analytics programme and provide detailed knowledge transfer to existing staff. Your role will be working in a 3rd level development and support team, involved in robotics process automation, Azure Analytics, GIS, integrations and other information development projects; which include implementing new technologies for Hampshire County Council. 

You will focus on the management of the corporate analytics platform, taking responsibility for the day to day functions; including: support of the live automated data pipelines; integration between our analytics platform and other systems, and a programme of continual improvement. This will include troubleshooting issues, trialling enhancements; as well as working closely with the various departmental data scientists and analytics teams. 

About you 

You will have expert knowledge of the Azure Analytics platform and significant practical experience of supporting an enterprise implementation of the components within it. Having used it within an environment of cross-departmental and multi-functional teams with a variety of user types.

In particular, you will have significant experience of using Azure Data Factory and Azure Storage Accounts; as well as the management of information security. Ideally you will also be familiar with Data Flows within Power BI and other similar data manipulation tools.

You will have experience of working in an IT application support environment; handling customer calls and resolving identified issues. You will be familiar with a variety of standard desktop and server applications; and be prepared to enhance that knowledge with a detailed understanding of new systems. 

You will be able to absorb information quickly and understand new technologies/solutions. You will be willing to learn, be determined and adaptable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written, together with the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems in a logical and effective way.
