We have a number of excellent casual opportunities available across a number of our roles at Cranleigh Paddock, if you are hard-working, caring and passionate about providing outstanding care for our residents that we will have the role for you. 


Our residential unit is set in a lovely rural area and is a very friendly and welcoming residential unit. Our highly trained staff provide dedicated personal care tailored to individual needs. We pride ourselves on our core values of being respectful, promoting privacy, dignity and independence and strive to offer person centred care, involving our residents every step of the way.


Our current casual opportunities at Cranleigh Paddock include:


Care Assistants (both day and night care) (£8.93 - £9.74 per hour plus holiday pay)


In these vital roles, life experience is more important than work experience. You will have an empathy with the needs of older people and understand the importance of treating our residents with dignity and respect.

We will give you all the support, training and development you will need to help you enjoy an extremely satisfying career in social care, as well as offering excellent enhancements for night time working. The work can be challenging, but the rewards are beyond measure.


Activities Coordinators (£8.93 - £9.74 per hour plus holiday pay)


In these personally and professionally rewarding roles, you will be resourceful and creative, organising activities and social events for elderly people who are frail or who have dementia. You will support our volunteers and engage with local community groups in making our home a part of that community.

With an empathy with the needs of older people, you will also have a sense of fun and a natural ability to help our residents make the most out of everyday life. 


Domestic Assistants (£8.50 - £8.63 per hour plus holiday pay)


In your role providing essential cleaning duties, you will be a highly valued member of a supportive and professional team. Your duties will include general cleaning activities and maintaining cleaning standards in all areas of the home. Empathy and understanding of the needs of older people is essential, as is the ability to prioritise your workload.


General Assistants (£8.76 - £8.89 per hour plus holiday pay)


In your role you will carry out kitchen, domestic and laundry duties with some caring responsibilities such as assisting residents with their food and drink. You will have empathy and an understanding of the needs of older people as you will also interact with our residents and play a key role in providing the caring and homely environment we strive for.


Assistant Unit Managers (£13.00 - £14.63 per hour plus holiday pay)


Your role will be to ensure the effective and efficient management of the Unit. As the most senior member of staff on duty, you’ll need to demonstrate skills for managing staff and taking responsibility for the safety and welfare of residents as well as the maintenance of the building on a day to day basis and will have at least NVQ2 in care.

Working Conditions:

Depending on the role you fill, the following working conditions may apply:


  • Manual handling of people and objects daily 15+kg
  • Working with vulnerable adults
  • Night work
  • Participating in direct personal care
  • Food handling
  • Contact with sharps (e.g. Needles)
  • Working in a hot environment
  • Contact with people with infections, human blood or bodily fluid
  • Contact with cleaning materials
  • Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
