We value our nurses for the fantastic work that they do.

The nurses on the front line of Hampshire County Councils Adults Health and Care service do so much more than care, they transform lives. Our nurses are caregivers, advocates and true heroes of healthcare.

We are currently offering opportunities for passionate and dedicated nurses to join the team at our brand-new facility, Clarence Unit at Woodcot Lodge. Located in the historic naval town of Gosport, Clarence Unit is a unique discharge service that supports hospital leavers either return home with a package of care, or on to a residential setting.

Surrounded by a well-resourced multi-disciplinary team, you will be fully supported in your determination to provide the highest quality care to our services users.

About you:

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse with a valid Pin number, knowledge of National Standards and NMC code of practice. Not to mention a background in person centred care planning within a care home. Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll be a great mentor who can manage time effectively and keep meaningful records. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.
You will have a proven track record of working with older people with complex care requirements, ideally within a hospital or clinical setting.  You will deliver the very highest standard of care as you assess nursing needs, identify and taking the right interventions for every resident who needs you. You’ll also supervise colleagues, manage shifts and make sure flawless handover summaries are completed to ensure continuity of care. Above all, it’s about ensuring our residents are at the heart of everything you do.

Full COVID-19 vaccination status is no longer required as a condition of employment, but being fully vaccinated is strongly encouraged.

What we can offer you:

Hampshire County Council cares for those who care and we recognise the outstanding contribution you make to people’s lives, so in return we offer a commitment to your development and wellbeing, enabling you to be the best nurse you can possibly be.

This is offered alongside a competitive benefits package, including;

  • A £6,000 market supplement (pro-rata if part-time) in addition to your annual salary.
  • Access to Local Government Pension Scheme
  • A minimum 25 days annual leave entitlement
  • Family friendly policies
  • An exceptional, supportive team
  • NMC revalidation funding
  • We can offer you a range of CPD activities that will not only support your NMC registration but allow you to continually upskill and excel.

Our service users are at the heart of everything we do, and our sole aim is to give them the dignity, respect and independence that they deserve.

Values Based Recruitment:

We recruit for attitudes and values in Adults’ Health and Care. We invite you to evidence how you demonstrate the 4 core values we hold in your application.

The 4 core values are:

  • Person Centred: Has a person centred and strengths-based approach that empowers service users and carers to live independent lives.
  • Resilience: Successfully manages change and develops and maintains their wellbeing and resilience.
