Be a Social Worker for Hampshire County Council and practice in an Outstanding Authority 


We are seeking experienced and passionate Social Workers to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub team, based at Hampshire County Council’s frontline contact centre in Fareham. Our MASH team provides triage and multi-agency assessment of safeguarding concerns. Working closely with the Contact Assessment Resolution Team, we work to protect the most vulnerable children from harm, neglect and abuse.

Using your professional knowledge and experience you’ll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills you’ll establish and maintain relationships to ensure services meet identified needs. 

You’ll be committed to facilitating effective multi-agency solutions to ensure positive and sustainable outcomes. Using best practice, you’ll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly however, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and families to ensure that they thrive and flourish.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Using your skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessment of risks protection and social care needs.
  • Managing an agreed case load 
  • Using specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users
  • Devising individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
  • Offering advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist development 
  • Working with other agencies and stakeholders to develop partnerships and to undertake joint assessments where appropriate


You will be:


  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (formerly HCPC)
  • Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups
  • Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
  • Creative, flexible and forward thinking in your approach
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues 
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children
  • Able to use your excellent mediation and negotiation skill on behalf of service users.
