Market Supplement: £1,400 per annum

Work Location:  Various locations available, including Fareham & Gosport, New Forest, Havant, Basingstoke and East Hants

Hours per week: 37

Be a Social Worker for Hampshire County Council and practice in an Outstanding Authority

We are seeking experienced and passionate Social Workers to join our Children in Care teams (CiC). Using your professional knowledge and experience you will provide long-term social care intervention for children from 4 to 18 years in the care of the local authority.

Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills you will ensure stability of placements and independence for our Children in Care. Always considering children's wishes and feelings. You will have a proven commitment to facilitate effective multi-agency solutions to ensure positive and sustainable outcomes.

Using best practice, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children and help them to remain living with their parents or wider family wherever possible. Most importantly however, you will have a passion for supporting children and families to ensure that they thrive and flourish.

As Children in Care Social Worker you will be supported and actively encouraged to:
  • Maintain positive relationships with our children, young people and their birth families.
  • Manage risks to ensure children and young people are kept safe.
  • Work collaboratively with our partner agencies and colleagues who are involved with ensuring the children’s and young people’s welfare.
  • Ensure children and young people’s needs are being met.
  • Help to find reunification and permanent plans for children and young people in our care.
  • Plan collaboratively with children and young people.
  • Gain valuable career experience from long term care planning.
