Salary Range: £17,262 upwards depending on role

Hours: Part and Full Time (max 37 hours per week)

Job Purpose


TempForce is an employment scheme set up within Hampshire Constabulary and is similar to a high street agency - but purely for the constabulary. Driven by current and future demands, individuals registered with Tempforce can be called upon to assist Hampshire Constabulary on a short to long term basis either on a full time, part time or ad-hoc basis.

We are interested in a range of applications from administrators with or without a police background, people with investigation experience both within and outside the police, through to people who have specialist police skills or experience gained during previous employment within the police service.


Work will be available at a variety of locations across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight force area according to operational need. The exact location of any work will usually be confirmed at the time the work is offered.  The most popular areas of assignment placement are Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh, Southampton, Fareham and Portsmouth.  Working hours may also vary, and will also be discussed when the offer of work is made. Sometimes there will be several days notice of an assignment starting, but on occasion the need will be urgent and there will be very little notice.


TempForce is suitable for individuals who wish to retain maximum flexibility about when they work and for how long. However, it is not suitable for those who require a guaranteed income because there is no obligation on the part of Hampshire Constabulary to offer work to an individual. Equally, individuals are free to accept or decline work that is offered to them.

Essential Qualifications
Essential Experience


  • Experience of working in an office environment and undertaking a variety of clerical and administration duties
  • IT literate with a working knowledge of word processing, email, and spreadsheet packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to deal with a variety of enquiries in a professional and accurate manner
  • Able to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines, and work unsupervised when necessary
