Salary - Scale 3,  £20,118 - £21,399 per annum 

Hours - 37.00 hrs per week

Contract - Permanent

Are you looking for a role in the Criminal Justice System where you can also positively impact road safety? Do you have the skills to work as part of a large team in a busy environment? As a Summary Justice Unit Clerk in our Capture Team, you will be required to use a range of video equipment to facilitate the accurate extraction of evidence from film sequences and officer issued tickets in order to initiate procedures contained in Road Traffic legislation. You will ensure the timely processing of offenders into appropriate disposal options, as well highlighting cases where suspected criminal or prevarication offences exist.


Your role will be to perform a range of clerical and administrative tasks providing an efficient delivery of service across the range of summary justice.


Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:


1. Deal with correspondence and process telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.


2. Liaise with and provide guidance to internal and external individuals, departments, agencies and companies.


3. Accurately input and update information onto various databases within the unit.


4. Interrogate the different databases to deal with queries.


5. To generate standard and non standard documents.


6. Carry out general administrative duties including dealing with incoming and outgoing post


7. Adhere to Service Level Agreements within the Summary Justice Unit


8. To provide cover to other sections as directed by the Summary Justice Team Leader


9. To give regular and effective service.

Essential Qualifications


Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience


Experience working in a busy office environment. To be computer/keyboard literate and a competent keyboard user.
