Applications are invited from suitably qualified Constables who are ready to take the next step in their career and lead and support a team, to deliver high quality policing to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Job Purpose

Our Sergeants play a critical role in setting the tone for our teams and our organisation. Creating inclusive environments that support individuals to thrive whilst delivering effective and empowering supervision. This will enable our front line to meet the performance standards and achievements that our public have the right to expect.

This role will co-ordinate, monitor and respond to front line policing activity to uphold the law, enable public safety and build public confidence in policing in line with legal frameworks and policy guidelines.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be a serving police officer in a Home Office force, or a previous Home Office Force police officer applying as a re-joiner at a higher rank.

 

  • Must have a valid OSPRE part 1 and 2 qualification or hold if qualifications were gained after 2014 hold a valid NPPF step 2 legal exam pass at the date of the promotion board. (NPPF passes have a validity of 5 years only)

You will be required to evidence the following competency areas in your application:

  • We analyse critically – Level 2
  • We are innovative and open minded – Level 2
