Salary range: £23,114 - £23,500 pro-rata, per annum (actual salary £6,797 - £6,911 per annum) 

Work location: The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock 

Hours per week: 10.88 average per week (4 week rota)  

Contract type: Permanent

We are looking for a Café Assistant to work in The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock.

About us

 

The Museums Service cares for more than one-and-a-half million objects that tell the story of Oxfordshire and the people who have lived here over the centuries. Objects not on display are cared for at the Museums Resource Centre; a purpose built store at Standlake, near Witney, which is also home to the conservation and collections team. Our aim is to make this collection as accessible as possible to the general public through permanent displays at The Oxfordshire Museum, and other Museums across the County, in touring exhibitions and on the web.

About the role

 

As a Café Assistant, you will be working as part of a team of paid staff and volunteers in the busy Café. Duties will include taking orders, preparing a range of light refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Management Policy and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the Café. You will handle sales and operate a cash till and card machine, alongside other members of the team. 

About you

 

You will need to be a practical, flexible, well-organised person, who is able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation. You must have a friendly, open and helpful manner, enjoy meeting people and be committed to providing excellent customer service. Experience of similar work is essential, as is recent experience of handling cash/sales and using a till, although training will be given.
