Salary range: £29,269 - £32,076 pro-rata, per annum 

Work location: Fitzharrys School, Abingdon 

Hours per week: 35 

Contract type: Permanent, term-time only (39 weeks per annum)

Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check.

About us and the role

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant for a full time position (35 hours per week) working in the specialist resource base at Fitzharrys School for children with Autism and Communication and Interaction needs.

 

 

Our Communication and Interaction Resource Bases are in mainstream schools where you will work closely with specialist classroom teachers, providing directed support, care and supervision to children including those who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated language, interaction, learning and communication difficulties.

 

The aim of your support and guidance will be to enable the children in Key stage 3&4 to access the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion in school life, supporting children to learn as independently as possible.

 

 

About you

 

Our ideal candidate has a quiet and encouraging manner, highly developed communication skills and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations. You need to be open to learning and to have a commitment to inclusion for children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
